2021-03-05 Positive news from the Swedish Farmers’ Association (LRF)
After many years of steady declines, the very gratifying news came from the Swedish Farmers’ Association (LRF) that milk production in Sweden has actually increased in 2020, both in terms of the number of dairy cows and the volume of milk delivered to the dairies.
One reason may be the new national food strategy with increased focus on domestic food production for increased self-sufficiency. Sweden not only has suitable natural conditions for milk production, with large rural areas and good conditions for grassland cultivation. We also have among the world’s best animal welfare, low antibiotic use and great focus on sustainability. Cheers to our Swedish dairy farmers and the fantastic work they do every day, all year round.
