The front legs of the tank are shorter than the rare legs. To facilitate installation in the milk room, if height is an issue, we offer short transportation legs as an option. The short legs are mounted to the tank on farm instead of the ordinary middle (if applicable) and rare legs, and the total height of the tank will thus be reduced by 50-100 mm, depending on the tank size. This could mean that the tank would fit through the door of the milk room! The legs have a robust construction in stainless steel. Note that the legs are delivered in pairs so you need to order one or two pairs, depending on the size of your tank. The front legs are already short.
Read more about our horizontal milk cooling tanks here.
Advantages with the short transportation legs;
- Reduce the height of the tank with 50-100 mm
- Facilitate installation
- Robust construction in stainless steel
Typically, it’s a calibrated stick that indicates the milk level in the tank, allowing dairy farmers or processors to determine how much milk is present. The dipstick is inserted vertically into the tank, where the milk’s surface level leaves a mark on the stick.
The readings on the dipstick are calibrated according to the tank’s shape and volume, providing an accurate estimate of the milk quantity.
The solution is very smart as it takes control of the pneumatic valve of the tank outlet and opens it. You can also regulate the opening degree of the valve and thus the milk flow from the outlet. This flow setting will be fixed so all you need to do the next time is press a button. Of course, the flow setting can be easily changed anytime. The home consumption button can be factory-mounted or installed at the farm on an existing tank.

This energy would otherwise have been ventilated from the condensers, meaning that it would either have warmed up the milk room or been wasted outside. The warm water can be used for example as drinking water for the cows, if it is mixed with cold water. It can also be stored in a water tank and used for e.g. cleaning or heating purposes on the farm. This will save both energy and money.
Advantages with Interpac:
- Short payback time of investment costs
- Uses excess heat energy from the cooling process to heat water
- Supplies you with warm water “for free”
- Your cows can get warmer drinking water, drink more and produce more milk
- Environmental-friendly

The AK-Müller valves are especially developed to handle cold temperatures and the risk for freezing and damage in the valve is minimized. Thus, the AK-Müller valves secure a problem-free operation and hygienic cleaning of the milk cooling tank even on very cold days.
Advantages with the AK Müller valves;
• Specially developed for cold climate
• Prevent freezing
• Secure function of the cleaning system and thus milk quality
It is installed directly on the tank, connected to the cleaning system and it will secure the water temperature and thus milk quality. Note that for silos and horizontal tanks with two cleaning pumps (14,000 liters and bigger), two heaters can be installed, which doubles the heating capacity.
The heater keeps the water at the right temperature, during the main cleaning, and thus the total cleaning time can increase if the starting temperature of the water is low. Our recommendation is therefore always to install a separate boiler tank to grant hot water availability at all times and to keep down the cleaning time. The boiler tank should contain about 50 percent more water than is needed for one cleaning cycle, so that the water temperature is maintained throughout the whole cleaning.
Advantages with our heater:
- Powerful heater
- Adapted for the environment in the milk room
- Keeps the cleaning temperature on the right level
- Secures milk quality
You can place your cans of detergent on the shelf so that they do not take up floor space. The detergent shelf has a smart design and robust construction in stainless steel. A receiver as an option, in these cases, ensures an optimal performance of the cooling unit.
A magnetic valve is recommended as an option when the cooling unit is placed some distance from the tank. It prevents refrigerant migration to the evaporator and thus gives the system a better compressor start and thus a longer lifespan.
The receiver and magnetic valve should be factory mounted, but can if necessary also be retrofitted by an authorized cooling technician.
Advantages with a receiver and magnetic valve;
- Secure optimal performance of the cooling unit
- Enable placement of the cooling unit on a distance from the tank or on a different height level
- Minimises the risk for operational disturbances if the ambient temperature is varying
- Grant a better start and longer lifespan for the compressor
The capacity regulator moderates the cooling effect when there is only a small volume of milk in the tank, so the risk for freezing is minimized.
This of course is especially relevant in robotic milking because the tank is filled rather slowly after cleaning. Thus, we offer the capacity regulator as a standard on all our milk cooling tanks for robotic milking. This means that you won’t have any problems with freezing in the tank and your milk will keep its high quality. The capacity regulator is installed from factory, but it can also be retrofitted on farm. This can be very convenient if you want to adapt your existing conventional Wedholms tank to robotic milking. The capacity regulator is especially designed to operate with the Argos control system.
Advantages with the capacity regulator;
- Avoids freezing of the milk at small volumes
- Standard on tanks for robotic milking
- Secures milk quality
